کورتە

وەسف
English: Signature of American writer Sylvia Plath as it appeared in the August 1953 issue of Mademoiselle magazine. In her novel The Bell Jar, Plath gave a semi-autobiographical account of her time as an editor at the magazine—including, famously, the moment her photo was taken to be printed alongside her signature.

Public domain
This signature is believed to be ineligible for copyright and therefore in the public domain because it falls below the required level of originality for copyright protection both in the United States and in the source country (if different). In this case, the source country (e.g. the country of nationality of the signatory) is believed to be ویلایەتە یەکگرتووەکانی ئەمریکا.
Note that this tag cannot be used on all signatures, as not all signatures are copyright-free.
See Commons:When to use the PD-signature tag for an explanation of when the tag may be used.
وەشانەکانی تر
English: The previous version uploaded to Commons, seen below, was sourced from the cover of an uncorrected proof of The Journals of Sylvia Plath. That signature differs significantly from the one found here and may not actually be Plath's signature. Its only source is the cover image itself, taken at face value, without any external reason to interpret the handwritten version of her name as her signature—it could be, but there's not enough information. It seems just as likely that it was merely a design choice to use handwritten lettering. By comparison, the Mademoiselle signature appeared in a magazine feature highlighting young women writers with a photograph of each set beside a distinct signature, making it highly likely that this is Plath's genuine signature.
